Colorsmith has always appreciated the challenge of abstract design compositions and has long contributed work in this style to churches, public buildings and private homes. We enjoy creating work appropriate to contemporary building styles. With the resurgence of interest in mid-century modern architecture, demand for work in this style has increased and Colorsmith looks forward to serving this growing community with dedication to design excellence.
Colorsmith has created numerous Prairie Style windows, doors, lighting and cabinetry in keeping with this strong tradition in especially Midwestern residential architecture. Many restoration projects of a larger scale have involved restructuring, preserving or replacing stained glass of this style, Frank Lloyd Wright's homes, churches and his personal studio among them. It is an honor to preserve and contribute new work to this important architecture and design direction. The Prairie Style in architecture and stained glass has had a broad and significant impact on the work in many design fields throughout the United States and beyond.
Victorian stained glass windows are in keeping with a significant portion of American architecture. In keeping with that tradition, Colorsmith has been instrumental in reproducing missing or damaged windows, and in assisting home and building owners in maintaining the design integrity of their artwork. We are honored to protect and contribute to this rich design tradition.
